I’m so excited to announce the new course I will be teaching at University of Hawaii, Hawaii Community College this Fall. It is called “Entrepreneurial Disruption: Pandemic-Proof Your Business Through Business Planning.”

Look, it has been a tough time for everyone. Social distancing, mask-wearing, the politicization of science, the November election, etc. COVID has brought a whole new meaning to life for many of us. Unfortunately, small businesses are being decimated in this pandemic. But that doesn’t have to be the narrative. If you can see opportunity in the storm, if you can look for ways that you can innovate your industry, then you are a true entrepreneur. It is the entrepreneurial spirit that will carry us through this trying time as a world.

I am assembling world-class leaders in business and non-profits to shed some light on ways that you can create, innovate and innovate some more! We are going to have to come together as a nation to see us through this economic turmoil. I thought I’d never have to write about an economic depression again— but here we are, revisiting the themes of Young, Educated and Broke. I was hoping my work would be a relic of the past, and a memoir for the history books. But we are right back where we were in 2008, except it is scarier.

Let’s band together as a business community and look for solutions together. Sign up for my class, and join other like-minded leaders. It will be the ingenuity of our small businesses that will get us through this. I truly believe that.
