AN INTRODUCTION TO AMERICA'S NEW POOR

As a researcher who studies people and culture in organizations, Dr. Borromeo has written a book focused on her Millennial experience in organizations. Young, Educated & Broke provides a “Millennial Blueprint” for what author, Jamie Borromeo, believes can spark a conversation between young people and current leadership to address workplace culture shifts and generational divides on how organizations are dealing with new dynamics. In such uncertain times, Borromeo’s analysis leaves you inspired and hopeful as she writes a plan–and provides tangible proof–that her generation will be a formidable force in the next chapter of America’s history.

About Jamie

jamie borromeo, DBA

Dr. Jamie Borromeo is a consultant and researcher with a unique background in education, diversity, equity and inclusion, non-profit and public policy experience. She has provided strategy for Fortune 500 companies and organizations to optimize and maximize the value of diverse human capital in organizations.

She received her Masters of Science Degree in Education at Johns Hopkins University School of Education with an emphasis on the neuroscience of learning. She has provided business instruction for University of Hawaii Community College, and has a doctorate in Business Administration with her dissertation research published on a collection of interviews with Fortune 500 senior executives to evaluate the internal perspectives of DEI programming in Corporate America and its relationship to organizational performance. Her research papers on diversity, equity and inclusion have been accepted in top management conferences, including the 2022 Vienna, Austria and 2023 Cagliari, Italy European Studies for Organizational Management Conferences.

Dr. Borromeo has devoted her career to ensuring that organizations recognize the value of ethnic, gender and generational diversity in the workplace.

In her inaugural book, Young, Educated & Broke, she engages her generation through workforce leadership training and college tours by addressing what she believes is a major stumbling block to America’s competitive edge in the global economy: the inability to develop the next generation of career professionals who are diverse and innovative.

By focusing on Millennials, who will inherit the current economic and government policies of this current generation, she believes an intergenerational approach can change the trajectory of the country.

In addition to her work empowering and developing future generations, Borromeo has consulted over a dozen corporate senior executives, elected officials, and community-based organizations on issues of economic development, public policy, and diversity and inclusion.

As former Executive Director of the National Council of Asian American Business Associations (NCAABA,) Ms. Borromeo was responsible for fundraising and creating the signature program of the organization, The NCAABA Supplier Academy, where she managed accounts with: Wells Fargo, Bloomingdale’s, Apple, Southwest Airlines, The Walt Disney Company, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and other U.S. based corporations.

Dr. Borromeo received her doctorate at St. Mary’s College of California School of Economics and Business Administration. Her research focuses on the current state of diversity management in Fortune 500 companies and their effect on organizational performance. She is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
